If you are having difficulty getting your dog to come when called, or he comes back sometimes but not every time, or she is fine unless you take her to a new area then she runs off, you need my recall workshop.

I will answer your recall questions, give you some force free advice and guide you through some exercises to improve your dogs willingness to return.

The workshop is held in two parts, the first part is a lot of talking and learning for you! Lasting about 1 hour we will sit down (on chairs) and discuss some theory.  I will explain ways we can change our behaviour to improve the desired behaviour of our dogs.  I will explain the exercises that we will do with the dogs so when we get to the hands on training we all know what we are doing and why.

It is easier to do this bit without the dogs and there are a couple of options for you with regard to this.  You can leave your dog in the car providing it is not too hot and they are comfortable in this environment or if your dog will sit nicely with you for the theory bit, that is fine with me.

The second part is the hands on training where you will practice what you have learned.  I will support you through the exercises and adapt them to suit your dog.

Course Content
Equipment needed for recall Training
Reasons why dogs don’t come back when called
Methods to recall your dog
High prey dogs and what to do
Different rewards and how to decide which one to use
Dealing with the failed recall

Please don’t think that attending this workshop will “fix” your dog.  You will need to put in lots of consistent training and rewards over a period of time to get the results you require.  This workshop is designed to help you understand what might be going wrong in your training and give you the knowledge and tools to put it right.

A well fitting harness is best for this exercise as it will don’t put strain on the neck.

*If you have a reactive or aggressive dog, this is not the right environment for them. Please consider booking a 121 session instead.

No choke chains, prong collars or shock collars will be allowed.
